Minister: Status report on the new highway project. Why hasn't it opened? The inauguration banners are already up, and I've memorized my speech.

Bureaucrat: A minor technical inconvenience, sir. The main bridge collapsed this morning.

Minister: Collapsed? Before a single vehicle crossed it? That's impressive. How does concrete develop stage fright before the ribbon-cutting?

Bureaucrat: Inferior materials, sir. But if you zoom out and think like a macroeconomist, it's actually an elegant growth strategy.

Minister: Go on.

Bureaucrat: It's a self-sustaining economic model:

Step 1: Cut construction costs, inflate bills, and quietly redirect the savings.

Step 2: The bridge collapses, creating an "unforeseen emergency."

Step 3: Award premium reconstruction contracts to the usual "qualified" bidders.

Step 4: Repeat the process whenever growth needs a boost.

Why settle for one infrastructure project when the same bridge can generate GDP multiple times?

Minister: Ingenious. But what about the public outrage over corruption and public safety?

Bureaucrat: Routine issue, sir. We'll launch a nationwide campaign celebrating "resilience." We'll rename the debris after a revered historical figure, announce a high-powered committee, and eventually conclude that the river displayed "unexpected hydrological enthusiasm."

Minister: Excellent. One more thing.

Bureaucrat: Yes, sir?

Minister: Make sure the inquiry report blames unprecedented weather, geological anomalies, climate change, or an act of nature—anything except the budget. After all, accountability is far more expensive than reconstruction.

Why do I feel like I am all alone in my team? Why do I have none on my side?  Struggle and the consequent success are often painted with a broad brush of accolades and admiration, but the path to the pinnacle can be a lonely one. As Mark Twain astutely observed,  if you are on the side of majority, you need to pause and introspect .  Because  you can't be both- with the majority as well as at the top of it.  Also,  majority can never be at the top.  Because if that ever happens, that point no more remains the top. 'I think, therefore, I am' So, in the process, lately,  I found myself standing at the Event Horizon, again, thinking as per my natural instinct, this time, only with an existential crisis: TO BE, OR NOT TO BE, that is the question. I found myself wondering whether to approach it, never to come back again out of the blackhole, or to enter the wormhole instead? And that, in yearn for what? To stay back and if so, for what? Or to get away, if so, from what? This brought me to a question that essentially questioned my very existence, and its cause and effect.
